History of Our School

Southeast Elementary School is a community based school that is located within walking distance of Historic Downtown Kinston, North Carolina. Southeast has students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

The main building of the school was built in 1970. Southeast's location meant it served both Simon Bright Apartments and Carver Court. The Kindergarten through Second Grade Hall addition was added in 1980. In 2002, the gym and music room were added. In 2010 extensive renovations and upgrades were made to the main building.

Our school colors are green and gold. Cubby is the mascot. Our motto is "Teach the Kids, Love the Kids, Teach the Kids".
